Guest Musician: Phil Charrette – Born in Kingsville Ontario, his musical career started from childhood as part of a musical family singing traditional and folk songs. His first real taste of the rock and roll life was touring around Canada (Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec) as part of White Widow. The next four years were spent studying English at the University of Windsor all the while developing a loyal following as a key member of Vagabond. After graduating with a B. Ed. and a teaching certificate, Phil grabbed his backpack and guitar and headed overseas. He traveled throughout Europe, Asia and Africa where many nights were spent making music in everything from pubs, to a fireside in a Bedouin camp on the edge of the Dead Sea. Phil’s nomadic lifestyle finished, he settled in Korea and taught English for a year. Eager to see and experience new lands and cultures he accepted a position as an English teacher in Colombia where he taught and played in a local band (TMO) for three years. His travels have led to a diverse appreciation in music and culture as well as a fluency in 3 languages.
